Biathlete Lukas Hofer made it!
New WORLDRECORD for Lukas Hofer on top of Kronplatz
On late Sunday evening he pulverized the targeted world record in the Hike & Fly. He ran up the Kronplatz ten times and flew back down into the valley with a paraglider.
Hike & Fly? It’s about collecting as many meters in altitude as possible. Up on the mountain, it goes on foot, down with the paraglider. The time available for this is 24 hours, but flying is legally allowed only between sunrise and sunset.
In 19 hours and 30 minutes, the two-time Olympic medalist in biathlon collected no less than 13,040 meters in altitude. He ran ten times from Reischach on the Kronplatz summit and recorded in each case 1.304 meters in altitude.
